How To Change The Female Money Mindset

“To attract money, you must focus on wealth. It is impossible to bring more money into your life when you are noticing you do not have enough, because that means you are thinking thoughts that you do not have enough.” This powerful quote from the author of The Secret, Rhonda Byrne, is an important reminder of the power of our thoughts. As women, we need to start normalizing the fact that we can, and are allowed to be wealthy. To change the female money mindset, especially since 49.6% of the world’s population is female, according to Bloomberg, the first and most important step is to take ownership of our wealth.

Let’s dive deeper into how exactly we can change the female money mindset.

The Female Money Mindset

At the start of 2022 we did our Future Females global entrepreneur survey after which we released the 2022 Women in Business Stats. One of the stats that stood out for us is the fact that the biggest challenge entrepreneurs face is a lack of funding, or access to capital. Why is that? Why do we, as women, still limit ourselves in believing that we can and more importantly, are allowed to create our own wealth? ForbesWomen sums it up perfectly: “We need to normalize wealthy women, as far too many women-owned businesses are afraid to reach for the wealth they can create through their business.” We need to let go of our fears and trust our ability to become successful and financially independent. Only then will we be able to reach for the stars.

Practical Tips To Change The Female Money Mindset

Once we’ve fine tuned our minds to think more positively about money, we can begin to implement practical steps to reaching wealth. Here are our top 5 tips to practically change your money mindset.

  1. Define your (financial) goals

What do you want to achieve, financially? Is it to create your dream lifestyle? Do you want to grow your business? Or are you ready to take your business to the next level and become completely financially independent? Wherever you are currently, you need to define your goals. Once you have a clear vision of your exact goals, you can start working to reach them.

  1. Invest in training

  1. Have an emergency “rainy day” fund

Life is bound to throw you a curveball – it’s almost inevitable. When that happens, make sure you are prepared. The general rule of thumb is to have (at least) between three and six months worth of your income set aside. This way, when an “emergency” strikes, you won’t be caught off guard. Keep this money saved up in a separate savings account. Having this emergency fund will help give you security, so you know that you can be more relaxed and flexible with other financial decisions, knowing you have this back up in case of emergencies.

  1. Express gratitude

What do you focus on when it comes to money? Are you constantly worried about your future, or do you focus on what you don’t have rather than on what you do have? Once you start focusing on gratitude, you will find that your appreciation for the things in your life becomes more important. Expressing gratitude comes back to the power of our thoughts – aka the Law of Attraction. Keep a gratitude journal and write down everything you have that you are thankful and grateful for. When you do this on a daily basis, you will find out how powerful a positive mindset can be.

  1. Money affirmations

We’re sure you’ve noticed that we truly believe in the power of a positive mindset. That brings us to our final practical tip to changing your money mindset: daily affirmations. If you haven’t read Byrne’s The Secret yet, do yourself a favour and invest in a copy. What you think, say and believe will become your reality. So, if you say, “I’m never going to be financially secure”, you’ll never be. “Your current thoughts are creating your future life. What you think about the most or focus on the most will appear as your life.” Start changing your thoughts and words into positive affirmations and focus on prosperity.

It’s time to change the female money mindset and become more positive about wealth.
