What does it really mean to be a founder? We toss this term around so often that it can start to lose meaning. What does it mean to be a founder? What qualities are involved? Who can be classified as a founder? Well, we’re here to break it down!
Let’s begin with a definition, shall we? According to Forbes, a Founder is:
“One who establishes something or formulates the basis for something. ‘Founder’ is a label with some amount of prestige. It carries connotations of creativity and innovation, determination, native intelligence, and a sense of fearlessness. Founders create something from nothing.”
To us, a founder is anyone brave enough to step into their power and start that side-hustle, business, franchise etc. Own that power!
As a founder, your responsibility lies in setting the company’s vision, making its drawcard as unique as you are, ensuring it’s attractive to your potential customers. The decisions rest on your shoulders – isn’t that so exciting?! You get to decide how things change, evolve, progress and become even more incredible.
Realistically, foundership is unlikely to be all smooth sailing from the get-go! But that is one of the things that makes this journey so rewarding; the knowledge that you pushed through tough times to see the rainbow at the end of a storm.
And a quick reminder to all of you, it is NEVER too early to call yourself the Founder and CEO of your business. Whether it’s Day 1 or Day 1000, own that title!
