August is a very special month for Future Females. Not only does our South African team celebrate Women’s Month, but it is also our birthday month. And this year, 2022, we turned FIVE! Our founders, Lauran Dallas and Cerina Bezuidenhout share the five biggest lessons they have learned from building and growing a successful business over the last five years.

5 Lessons From 5 Years

LESSON 1 – Start before you’re ready

There is no way to prove an idea can work until you put it out there in the market. Ideas have no value until they’re out there, so fail or succeed fast.

LESSON 2 – Work on your communication, always

With your co-founder or business partner, clients or customers – make sure you’re communicating WELL. If you have a team, make sure you update, give feedback, support each other, and lean on each other. Clear communication makes the journey far easier.

LESSON 3 – Keep it light!

Don’t get bogged down in the stress, anxiety, and the testing. You’ve chosen this path, your business is supposed to work for YOU, enjoy the process.

LESSON 4 – You need purpose AND profit

Make sure you are passionate about what you want to do, that you really believe in it, but also make sure that you’re going to make money out of it. You want to LIVE your life and have fun.

LESSON 5 – Entrepreneurship is a team sport

Surround yourself with supporters, ambassadors, a strong network, a community, and a team who share your vision and understand the path you are truly on.

We built Future Females to be exactly this – your TEAM!
