Proud Perfectionist Founder Archetype

The results are in! Was yours the Proud Perfectionist Founder Archetype? Well, so was a member of our team...can you relate?

Oh hey, Beyoncé!

That’s right, as a member of the Proud Perfectionist Archetype, you’re akin to Queen B!

Do you really think that Beyoncé would just walk out on stage without AT LEAST 8 months to prep beforehand? We think not!

Your Instagram feed has us all feeling fifty shades of green with envy and everything looks perfect…but is that really real?

Hi, my name’s Emma and I’m a Proud Perfectionist…
My days are spent tweaking photos until they’re ‘just right’, writing and re-writing copy, and creating four different options ‘just in case’. In case of what I have yet to find out but backups for your backups are always a good idea, right?

I also hope I’m not alone in the art of writing out a script before sending a tricky voice note or attending a stressful meeting? How else can I make sure I say everything I had in my mind beforehand? Come on fellow perfectionists, back me up here?!

Now don’t get me wrong, more often than not I love my perfectionistic tendencies because they give me:

  • Great attention to detail
  • Aesthetically appealing content
  • Copy that says exactly what I need it to
  • Fully thought out ideas (okay, maybe triple thought out…)

BUT it also makes me second guess myself and I end up using way more time than needed for something by going over and back over (and back over and back over) my work.

Maybe you’re not quite at my level but as a fellow perfectionist, I’m sure you can relate to not wanting anything to go live without being 100% sure it’s all correct first. Encountering doubt about something you’ve already checked and approved and a need to look it over just ‘one more time’. Perhaps you can also relate to the designs that aren’t quiiiiite ready to be released or the social media post you’re worried about – will people engage with it? Is the caption okay? What if no one likes it?

Well, Queen B and I have a message for you:

“If everything was perfect, you would never learn and you would never grow.”- Beyoncé

It’s okay for things to go amiss, we can only learn from the mistakes we make. Rather take the leap, experience the journey and chase your dreams than sitting back waiting for the non-existent ‘right time’ or ‘perfect situation’.
